Workshop Description
The Sports & Action Workshop is a 3-hour workshop that covers the nuances of action photography. First we will begin by spending some time inside talking about action photography and how to achieve the best results for differing types of action scenarios. This includes kids, animals, pets, vehicles and more. We will talk about techniques with shutter speed, panning, focusing, flash, indoor action, and mind-set. Afterward we will head outside to the nearby Lee & Joe Jamail Skate Park to photograph local skateboarders in action. We will also do a few experiments with photographing falling water which will give you a neat insight to how to control the motion of inanimate subject .

Plan B Workshop Date:

If our original Workshop date is cancelled due to bad weather, you will receive notification at least 24 hours prior. In this case the Portrait Workshop will be rescheduled for our ‘Plan B Workshop Date’ which is the Following Sunday. Therefore, when you register for this workshop you must ensure that you are available for the Original Workshop date as well as the ‘Plan B Date’ in case we get rained out. In the event that both dates are rained out then we will contact all participants with a ‘Plan C Date’.

Topics Covered:

  • fast & slow shutter speeds
  • panning effects
  • fast focusing
  • indoor action
  • anticipating action
  • helpful equipment

  • Detailed notes provided in class and photography assignments
