The day begins with 3 hours of classroom education. Here you will learn to adapt your photography knowledge for deeper understanding of exposure, light styling, wireless flash and posing for dynamic outdoor portrait photography. After a 1-hour lunch break we will walk over to the Buffalo Bayou Park (a 5 minute walk) for a 2-hour hands-on photo shoot. This will be your opportunity to put your new found knowledge to work. Your instructor will be by your side to ensure you feel comfortable with your equipment, settings, lighting and posing.  At the end of the day, the instructor will retrieve a copy of the pictures you have taken so your images may be donated to the model.

Plan B Workshop Date: If our original Workshop date is cancelled due to bad weather, you will receive notification at least 24 hours prior. In this case the Portrait Workshop will be rescheduled for our ‘Plan B Workshop Date’ which is the following Saturday. Therefore, when you register for this workshop you must ensure that you are available for the Original Workshop date as well as the ‘Plan B Date’ in case we get rained out. In the event that both dates are rained out then we will contact all participants to offer a refund or the option of a ‘Plan C Date’.

Is this workshop still going to take place? If so how many attendees are scheduled to attend?

    1. This workshop has been postponed to March 28th. I still plan on holding the Workshop until further notice.

  1. You do not need to bring any lighting equipment other than your camera and flash. It is not even required that you bring your flash because students will be shooting with my flash equipment. However if you bring your flash with you then you will be able to get experience and help navigating some of the flash functions we discuss.

  2. Hello Lana,

I just want to confirm that we need to bring the external flash but will not need to bring the lighting stands, and other off-camera flash accessories?
