Workshop Description
The Portrait Workshop is an all-day dynamic workshop that will bring your portrait skills to the highest levels of perfection. This workshop assumes that you have attended our Beginner 3-Class Package or have been previously educated in the basics of exposure, ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Focusing, Metering, 18% Grey & Flash. You DO NOT need to be an advanced photographer to attend. The purpose of the Portrait Workshop is to advance your skills to the level of a professional portrait photographer.

The day begins with 2.5 hours of classroom education. Here you will learn to adapt your photography knowledge for creating portraits of the greatest excellence. The knowledge you gain in the classroom will help you to become more comfortable and adaptable to the photographic dynamics you will encounter in the real world of portrait photography.

After a lunch break we will walk over to the Buffalo Bayou Park (a 5 minute walk) for a 2-hour hands-on photo shoot. This will be your opportunity to put your new found knowledge to work. Your instructor and instructing assistant will be by your side to ensure that you feel comfortable setting up your equipment, lighting and directing your models for spectacular poses.  At the end of the day, the instructor will retrieve the pictures you have taken so that your images may be provided to the models…just as you would do for a real client.

Plan B Workshop Date:

If our original Workshop date is cancelled due to bad weather, you will receive notification at least 24 hours prior. In this case the Portrait Workshop will be rescheduled for our ‘Plan B Workshop Date’ which is the Following Saturday. Therefore, when you register for this workshop you must ensure that you are available for the Original Workshop date as well as the ‘Plan B Date’ in case we get rained out. In the event that both dates are rained out then we will contact all participants with a ‘Plan C Date’.
